How do we make meaningful connections with the environment that last a lifetime? “Bad news stories” can motivate change, but true stewardship comes from a deep bond with the environments and ecologies all around us.

At Nurturing Connections With Nature, we will explore ways in which to inspire compassion and caring for the natural world among students of all ages. How can we interact more meaningfully with the non-human world, both within and outside the classrooms? What are the ethics of bringing living beings into lesson plans? Who should learn about concepts like compassion and stewardship, and who is qualified teach them? Where can educators find support and resources to teach about these topics?

Join us as we explore a pedagogical approach to learning about the natural world, and develop practical skills to foster meaningful connections to nature.
