PROGRAM EVALUATION – NOT ROCKET SCIENCE: AN OVERVIEW FOR NGOS

This one hour session touches on the basics of program evaluation, and is intended to de-mystify and simplify the process for application in programs and projects of NGOs.

Joanne Hughes is a retired public servant, having spent most of her career in senior management with the federal government including a period as national Director of Program Evaluation for Veterans Affairs, and Regional Director (Atlantic) Statistics Canada. Her volunteer work over the years has included conducting program evaluations for NGOs.
Joanne was born (nee Livingston) and raised in East Saint John. Her studies and work took her to cities throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario. Upon retirement in 2008 she returned home to Saint John to spend more time with family, and get re-connected with the city, her roots and long-time friends. She is an active member in the SJKV Newcomers and is currently engaged in fundraising and program evaluation work for Sophia Recovery Centre in Saint John.
